Charter Sails, LLC owns and operates the Catalina 34 sailing sloop, Prime Time. She is a 35 foot, 12,500 pound, United States Coast Guard documented vessel.. We also charter a 41 foot Maine Cat catamaran, the Kathleen D, owned and operated by Idylwild Enterprises, LLC. For larger groups we also charter an 80 foot, 50 ton, motor yacht, Captain John owned and operated by CJFC, LLC
Prime Time sails out of Monmouth Cove Marina, located on Sandy Hook Bay, 200 Port Monmouth Road West, Port Monmouth, NJ. Your sail aboard Prime Time carries only six passengers and we accommodate couples for that "special occasion". Trips are scheduled daily from May through October at 9:00AM, 2:00 PM and 6:00PM Sunset cruises. All day excursions and off shore sailing is available upon request. Reservations are required.
Kathleen D is a US Coast Guard inspected vessel approved to carry up to 20 passengers plus crew. The vessel is a 41 foot catamaran built by Maine Cat Yachts, USA. The vessel is over 18,000 pounds and with her 23 foot beam she is extremely comfortable and stable in any condition. The Kathleen D is available for private parties, business functions and family get togethers.
The Kathleen D sails from the Sandy Hook Bay Marina in historic Highlands, NJ. Located dockside at the marina adjacent to Beacon On the Bay Restaurant our location insures a greater sailing experience for our customers.
Direct ferry service to our marina is available from Manhattan via Sea Streak ferry service and the Highlands Water Taxi service.
Prime Time and Kathleen D sail the waters of Sandy Hook and Lower New York Bays as well as off shore along the New Jersey coast. With Views of the Verrazano Bridge, the Manhattan skyline and historic Sandy Hook lighthouse this area offers some of the finest sailing in the Northeast. All day cruises to the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor are also available.
Captain John is a US Coast Guard inspected vessel approved to carry up to 127 passengers plus crew. She is an ideal vessel for larger groups who want a beautiful sightseeing excursion of New York Harbor. The Hudson and East Rivers, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the South Street Seaport are just some of the spectacular sights you will see. While her home port is Keyport, NJ, Captain John can embark from Jersey City, Chelsea Pier in Manhattan and the Rockaways in Queens, NY. Captain John is also available for private fishing charters.
